Life Support Courses

These courses are aimed at health care professionals who need to keep their skills up to date to meet the evolving needs of their governing bodies. BLS is a mandatory component of revalidation for most healthcare employees and the Life Support packages that KCM Training offer give accredited and certified training as proof of currency in the key emergency procedures. Whether you are a GP, practice nurse or healthcare support worker, KCM Training can meet individual or group training needs. KCM Training delivers these courses according to the latest guidelines of the Resuscitation Council (UK) and Advanced Life Support Group and certificates are issued valid for one year from successful completion of the course. If you fail a course, you may be offered free re-training so please speak to your instructor on the day.

Accredited First Aid at Work Courses

First Aid at Work – Organisational Responsibilties

Organisations must ensure by law that they have a sufficient number of employees with a current first aid qualification in order to fulfil their first aid needs at all times. Employers must ensure that their provision is ‘adequate and appropriate for the circumstances'. It is the employer’s responsibility to decide what the requirements of the organisation are by assessing any specific work hazards and ensuring that sufficient equipment, facilities and personnel are available to deal with the consequences of these hazards.

As part of each assessment, organisations should look at things such as the nature of work engaged in and the subsequent hazards and risks, the size of the organisation, work patterns and accident histories amongst other things.

KCM Training is accredited to deliver these nationally recognised courses to anyone who has been nominated as a first aider at work or in the voluntary sector. For most people, the adult courses will cover most of the principles and give appropriate recognised certification. For those working in school or pre-school settings there are certain requirements that make the completion of the 2-day child first aid at work course more appropriate. We also offer 1-day basic Emergency First Aid and Activity First Aid course.
